What we can do

Preferences & mild intolerances

Vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free recipes are all available. Free-from orders get dedicated ingredients, separate equipment and a clean-down before every bake.

What we can’t do

Coeliac disease & severe allergies

We bake in a home kitchen, not a segregated commercial one. Traces cannot be ruled out.

We do not take orders for coeliac disease, anaphylaxis, or any allergy where a trace could cause serious harm.

Ordering a free-from cake means accepting that trace risk. A full ingredients list comes with every order.

Not sure? Just ask.

Most of this is easier to answer on a case by case basis. Tell us what you need and you will get a straight answer, including when the answer is no.

That is for preferences, mild intolerances and anything in between. Coeliac disease and severe allergies are the exception, and the answer there is no.

In Our Kitchen

Allergens We Handle

All of these are handled in the same kitchen your cake is baked in. A cake containing none of them as an ingredient can still pick up a trace.

Other allergens from the 14 UK regulated list may appear in individual ingredients. A full ingredients list comes with every order, and our postal box products show per-item ingredients and allergens on the website before you order.

Our Practice

What We Do For A Free-From Bake

01

Dedicated ingredients

Free-from bakes use separately bought, separately stored ingredients. Nothing is decanted from the containers used for standard bakes.

02

Separate equipment

Tins, bowls, utensils, piping bags and boards are kept for free-from work and never shared with gluten or dairy bakes.

03

Clean-down before every bake

Surfaces and equipment are cleaned down before a free-from bake starts. Where the schedule allows, free-from cakes are baked first.

04

Full ingredient disclosure

A complete ingredients list comes with every order, so you can make your own decision.

None of this makes the kitchen segregated. Airborne flour, a shared oven and a domestic space mean traces stay possible however careful we are.

Dietary Options

What We Bake

Vegetarian

Almost everything we bake is already vegetarian. Ask us to check a specific design, as some decorations contain gelatine.

Vegan

Fully vegan cakes across the range, using dedicated plant-based ingredients. Suitable as a dietary choice, not suitable where a dairy or egg trace is a health risk. Vegan cakes →

Gluten free recipes

Made to a gluten-free recipe with no gluten-containing ingredients. Suitable for a preference or mild intolerance, not suitable for coeliac disease. Gluten free cakes →

Dairy free

Dairy-free sponges and buttercreams on request. Suitable as a dietary choice, not suitable for a severe milk allergy.

Questions

Allergen Questions

Are your cakes safe for someone with coeliac disease?

No. Our gluten-free cakes are made to a gluten-free recipe with dedicated ingredients and separate equipment, but the same home kitchen handles wheat flour and traces cannot be ruled out. They are not suitable for coeliac disease and we do not accept those orders.

Can you bake for a severe or anaphylactic allergy?

No. Where a trace of an allergen could cause serious harm, we decline the order. A home kitchen cannot give the guarantee that needs.

Can you cater for dietary preferences and non-severe intolerances?

Yes. Vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free recipes are available across the cake range. We use dedicated free-from ingredients, separate tins and utensils, and clean down before every free-from bake. Ordering a free-from cake means accepting the residual trace risk.

Which allergens are handled in your kitchen?

Gluten and wheat, eggs, milk, tree nuts, peanuts, soya and sesame. Other allergens from the 14 UK regulated list may appear in individual ingredients. A full ingredients list comes with every order.

Why can't you label your cakes 'gluten free'?

In the UK, 'gluten free' is a regulated claim: the food must contain under 20 parts per million of gluten, verified by testing. A home kitchen cannot produce that evidence, so we say made to a gluten-free recipe instead.

Will I get an ingredients list?

Yes. Full ingredients and allergen information come with every order. Postal box products also list per-item ingredients and allergens on the website before you order.
